Why did we found Reround?
The built environment accounts for roughly a third of the world's emissions and of its use of natural resources. At the same time, perfectly usable building components are constantly stripped out of buildings and end up as waste — even though a new use could be found for them.
Interest in the circular economy has grown quickly in real estate and construction. More and more people want to cut emissions, save natural resources and make better use of the materials that already exist. Even so, reuse remains complicated. Identifying suitable components, inventorying them, managing their data, arranging logistics and finding new users all take a great deal of manual work, time and seamless cooperation between different parties.
We noticed that the biggest obstacle to reuse becoming commonplace is not a lack of will, but practical execution.
That is why we founded Reround.
Our goal is to make reusing building components easy and profitable — as smooth as buying new products. We bring software, a marketplace and hands-on execution together into a single whole that helps manage the entire reuse chain, from inventory all the way to delivery.
To make that possible, we brought together a team with long and varied experience in sustainability in real estate and construction, in productising services and in developing digital solutions. We understand the needs, the challenges and the opportunities of the industry’s different players, which is what lets us build solutions that work in practice as well.
By combining industry understanding, technology and a broad partner network, we make a demanding whole easy for the customer.
We believe that over the coming years, the reuse of building components will be one of the most significant opportunities in real estate and construction to cut emissions, costs and the use of natural resources. The industry needs a wider ecosystem to accelerate the circular economy and clear the obstacles away. That is why we are building the tools, services and ways of working that will make reuse efficient, profitable and, in the end, the industry's new normal.
